Inspirations
Inspired by Tammy's beautiful book-marker where she used a Palestinian traditional embroidery design, which you can view here on her blog T's Daily Treasures. and further inspiration that came from the stunning delicate embroidery on Poppy Patchwork's post and the gorgeous cross-stitch houses from Liz at Shortbread & Ginger . I have turned back to do some cross-stitching after years of not picking up a piece of Aida.
I thought I would start small and just do a simple book-marker for myself.
As you can see there are three suns and a star and I will do perhaps a star border around them and something perhaps on the end not quite sure what yet.
I wonder why I did suns perhaps it is because Summer officially started at the beginning of this week! On looking at it again I think it might be a bit too long so perhaps I will cut it after the third sun and make another one just of stars!

Doors
For those of you who are new to my blog I like to take photographs of old Doors you can read about it here
Sunday morning we went down to the city centre and my objective was to go to the San Nicholas cathedral...yes the one I mentioned in my last post. The doors there are beyond impressive and the cathedral, dating back to the 16th century, is an awesome monument. It is also like the gateway to the old quarter. If I want to take photos of Doors here in the city I know I have to go to the old quarter.
Unfortunately my plan was shattered as the plaza was packed with crowds of people ... wearing masks at least but not social distancing. I am crowd shy as it is and seeing people not respecting the restrictions which are still in force just made us turn around and walk away. Even so it was such a beautiful day that we went for a walk around and I took a few photos of the impressive luminous blue sky streaked with wisps of white.
A peek of the a top of the cathedral.
and one of my favourite places Carbonell house and the splendid walk past the port.
Happy blogging
Amanda :-)
