Crafty in the Med

I am here to enjoy meeting other bloggers and to share my love of craft ,mostly crochet, my thoughts and my daily happenings here in Alicante,Spain, my adopted country. I belong to a local choir because singing and music makes me happy. Flea markets and book shops are two of my favourite places to be. I read lots......sci´fi/fantasy,buried treasure, and off world adventures. I have a passion for history! I walk and walk and walk for about 10 months per year during the hot months I swim.

What next!

 Well I never!

Actually I had heard about these games on the TV. They seem to have become quite popular in Madrid but I thought it would take longer for them to appear in the provinces. I must say I have mixed feeling about these sort of outdoor games not really my "cup of tea" if at all it would depend who I had in my team. I see it isn't very expensive either.

I marvel at how some young entrepreneurs have unleashed their creativity during these hard times where lack of employment is rife and have built businesses for themselves. Many could learn from this!

Giving it a little more thought these type of outdoor city games could also keep a lot of young people out of mischief and perhaps there wouldn't be so many "botellones"(large street unauthorised parties where all they do is drink, dance and destroy public and people's property as well as having a blatant disregard for the Covid restrictions.) causing so much trouble mostly at weekends and provoking the spread of further Covid infection!

This is one of the events that will take place in December 2021,here in Alicante City. I think they have to find "the Ripper"!

RAOCKs

Random Acts of Crochet Kindness.

Still not been able to make a RAOCK as I ahave been crocheting that Christmas gift which I mentioned in my last post. It is well under way so I think I can have a moment or two to make one of these gnomes to leave out for someone to find.

Aren't they cute!   I am itching to make one!

 New on the plant stand

Another pot Sr P picked up for me from the local supermarket. Sr P tells me he doesn't have the time to ask for the name of the plant as he has too much to do...excuse me?... and what does he have to do I would like to know! He is as retired as I am!

Once again, I would be grateful if any of you recognise this plant could you give me the name of it please. I can find out the rest by Googling.

It does brighten up my stand!

The Petunia is doing well I nicked off the head of the dead flower and I have been watering it and keeping it out of the direct sunlight but no more flowers for the moment. I did have a chat with it...nicely like and perhaps there will be a few more flowers soon.

Treasure Tales are on hold at present!  I have to dig out some of the family relics from the spare room storage cupboard which is bulging at the seams!  This means I have to drag out the boxes and hunt through them to find those bits and pieces. I know they are there but I cannot remember in which box. It is still too hot to do that so I am going to wait until it gets cooler.

Happy Blogging

Amanda :-)
