IF THERE IS ANYONE I HAVE FORGOTTEN PLEASE TELL ME OFF!
My shawlette is finally ready to go over the seas and far away to the mystical land of OZ.
Sydney August 2011 |
Incidentally I can't resist saying I took this picture myself when I was in Sydney with my sisters last summer
The blocking worked a treat and I am very pleased with the results. What a difference blocking makes!
Nonetheless I did want to add my own personal touch to it.....I do like tweaking patterns to personalize it more.
Therefore I added a strand of what I call forest hearts
The forest hearts strand is detachable and can be placed wherever the wearer likes on the shawlette.
I had to improvise tch!!
or this way:
very versatile I think
How about as a bracelet? LOL
Amanda :-)
oh! now then what's this 4 EMPTY bowls all in a row???
Wow, this is beautiful! Love the personal touch!
ReplyDeleteOk...now? what is up with the bowls...are you trying to give us a hint of something exciting coming or did you just take a photo of how pretty they are and make me feel jealous of how lovely they would look on my breakfast bar?
Shari ")
ahhhhhhh! my friend we will see...not terribly exciting but I'll be filling them today LOL
DeleteOh Amanda, I love the sky above the Sydney opera house - beautiful. And the shawlette - well there really are no words, it's lovely, the colour is perfect. I have been in and out of here a few times but I can't see all of the pictures, don't know if that is a problem at my end?
ReplyDeleteHello Yvonne
ReplyDeleteI can see them all here but I'll try it out on my notebook and see if there is a problem. Perhaps your connection has gone slow and it needs more time to load the images.
I'll ask Shari who has left a comment above. Lets see if she had a problem too.
A xx
Just remembered Yvonne that I have noticed that blogger does strange things if someone is adding their comment at the sametime. There have been times I couldn't see a post properly because someone was in there writing and a few minutes later it would load properly. that could be it!

They're coming slowly Amanda, I am only missing photos 5 and 8 now lol earlier I could only see 2! I just read your Tuesday post, so sorry to hear about your car break-in, that is a horrible thing to happen xx
Deleteoh! good!
Deletesounds like your internet connection is on go slow then.
BUT lucky our car wasn't stolen that happened to us about 8 years ago.....horrible!

I love the personal touch of the hearts and had to chuckle over your "model." I have the same problem when I put up my apron give-away every month! LOL!! Husbands can be so difficult, but the chair idea is genius:-D
ReplyDeleteThe shawl would be perfect for our changing weather...fall is definitely approaching here. XOXO
Great idea! The hearts are a nice touch. It is hard to find a model when you need one. Now I know why I see so many dogs wearing shawls and scarves on Ravelry or other posts!
ReplyDeleteHadn't thought of that Lynne....but yes you just may be right!!!

Thanks for your oh so kind comment on my post this day, so much appreciated to hear from another ... with Summer almost out of the way it won't be long til I am wearing my long PJ pants out on my morning "Checkerboard Aussie" jaunts. Ha ! Enjoy your days!
ReplyDeleteand then will post put a photo of you in your PJs on your blog??? LOL!

Dear Amanda,
ReplyDeleteYour shawl is utterly beautiful. It totally appeals to garden aesthetics obssession and I am in awe of your knitting ability. Wow!!!!! Yes, I am speechless.
I should probably replied to your most recent post which I have carefully read but my mild, chronic irritation at Blogger was stopped dead in its tracks by your shawl appeal. I seriously do not know what is happening with Blogger as I have not experienced this precise problem but problems have certainly happened on a regular basis. I do spend most of my time muttering to myself 'it's free, it's free' but it remains rather capricious as an internet tool, don't you think? Ahh well; I will possibly irk the wrath of the Blogger Gods now... Watch this space.
Stephanie
Thanks you so much Stephanie for these lovely comments.....I agree with you yes its free but I find it difficult not to quibble about its irritable hiccups, especially when it means I am losing one or two as is the case of my lovely followers!

ps I've been a little SILENT since our return as I found out on Saturday that I was hugely anemic so I have been trying to keep still for the time it usually takes for the iron tablets, nettle tea (magic potions are often the best) to begin to kick in. I am thankfully beginning to feel more dynamic once again which is great as we have a household of children and friends to enjoy. I shall be sad to see them off to school next week but VERY excited to be getting back to my beloved work. My husband simply said to me 'you'll be bouncing off the ceilings when your iron levels are back to normal'. Too true ;-)
