Crafty in the Med

I am here to enjoy meeting other bloggers and to share my love of craft ,mostly crochet, my thoughts and my daily happenings here in Alicante,Spain, my adopted country. I belong to a local choir because singing and music makes me happy. Flea markets and book shops are two of my favourite places to be. I read lots......sci´fi/fantasy,buried treasure, and off world adventures. I have a passion for history! I walk and walk and walk for about 10 months per year during the hot months I swim.

Time for the Angel!

I've forgotten how to write blog posts!!!!!! Well...nearly!!!

My mind is blank so over the next few days I am going to write short posts to reactivate it...my brain that is!!!

Here she is folks out in the world again..here she is in all her gloriousness!!!
Ms Christmas Angel was given to me by a friend a few years back....and despite a couple of near fatal incidents (mostly Willie the cats fault) she is still going strong.

I've finally got my tree up with 2 days to go...phew!!!

Now,before I forget, can I just ask you to check and see if you are on my blog roll here

Yesterday I discovered that Blogger had repeated its antics of eliminating my blog roll and I had to set it up again.  If you followers and blog-mates find you do not appear there and you should please give me a shout and I'll add you. Thanks :-)

I have managed to keep crocheting, not as much as I would like but enough to feed my addiction.

You know it being Spain it is lovely during the day here but bitterly cold and frosty 7:00am mornings ....so I thought a crocheted woolly hood for Cookie baby (Grand-daughter) would do nicely as she waits for her bus to get to college.

Best of all she likes it and uses it!!!!

That is it for now but I'll be back soon with another post  :-)

Keep well

Amanda :-)

  1. HaHa! The fairy...Believe it or not! I still have the
fairy, that my Mum had when l was a a child..Every year
it was placed at the top of the tree...Now! This fairy
only had one leg...Yes! One leg! :).
    It was'nt till l grew up a bit, that l found out...Why?
My Dad removed her leg, so he could push the fairy onto
the top of the tree, not perhaps, tie her to the top, oh!
no! So the gap left left...minus leg...had the top of the
tree, rammed up her......!!!! Poor thing! HeHe!
She not been used in years, since my daughter went off to
Uni, some 22yrs ago. But, the crib still there, and that is
    over 60yrs old to!

    So.....
"Tanti cari e affettuosi auguri di Buon Natale
    e felice Anno Nuovo".

  5. Love, love, love your precious angel. I collect them you know, and have a soft spot for them. The crochet hood is very pretty too. Glad to see you back. I don't see my blog on your list. :-(. Merry Christmas!

  6. Hi Amanda! I like your angel very much, and admire the pretty hood you made for Cookie. I linked to your blog in my last post because I featured the Christmas tea cozy you gave me. Our power was out for nearly eight hours on Monday and I discovered that I could brew tea more rapidly over a tea light candle when I put the cozy on the teapot after half-filling the pot and putting a tea bag in. On our Christmas tree I hung the snowflakes and bell you sent me in our swap and have the little plate and pin cushion heart by my chair where I like to craft. Wishing you and yours a Happy Christmas celebration :) xx
