Crafty in the Med

I am here to enjoy meeting other bloggers and to share my love of craft ,mostly crochet, my thoughts and my daily happenings here in Alicante,Spain, my adopted country. I belong to a local choir because singing and music makes me happy. Flea markets and book shops are two of my favourite places to be. I read lots......sci´fi/fantasy,buried treasure, and off world adventures. I have a passion for history! I walk and walk and walk for about 10 months per year during the hot months I swim.

Sunshine Awards















 All four in just one day....what a wonderful surprise!!!!

Sunshine Award Rules.
 1. Thank the blogger who nominated you -that's completed above ,although I would have done that anyhow...how couldn't I... :-)
Now I must continue to follow the Sunshine Award rules  by answering 10 questions about myself
                                                    
2. Answer the 10 questions on your favorite things.

Favorite animal  mammal : dolphins
and I still haven't seen one in the wild but I refuse to see one in captivity....
 Favorite number: 8  and if I can't get an 8 I'll go for 6 or 4
Favorite non alcoholic drink: Tea   PG Tips and Darjeerling!
Facebook or Twitter: Facebook
 My passion: It goes with out saying My Family!  but otherwise  I have several,crochet,china,cross-stitch and family history
Getting or giving presents : I love receiving and enjoy giving just as much.
Favorite pattern:popcorn stitch...love using it
Favorite day of the week: Saturdays
Favorite flower:Jasmine...Spanish nights....
Favorite country:difficult!!! due to my circumstances I am torn between England the country of my youth and Spain the country where I have lived for the last 37 years. Lets just say Spain for the winter and autumn and England for spring and summer

    Congratulations on all four awards! You have a wonderful blog that has earned special recognition. It is so interesting to read and the fact that you are from England and have lived in Spain for 37 years is fascinating. What took you to Spain?
    Thank you for your comments on my blog. In answer to your question about the color red...First off, it is my favorite color and I am always looking for things red to photograph. Secondly, red is a favorite for many Americans...I think because it's considered a friendly, outgoing color...and, one of the main colors in our flag.
    There are red barns that dot the landscape across the entire country. Red seems to be the traditional color to paint a barn.

    Conratulations Amanda, very well deserved! With reference to question 1, on a boat trip back to Kos from Turkey, 3 dolphins suddenly appeared from nowhere, and swam around and under our boat for a while. Amazing experience! Have a lovely weekend, Claire

    Dear Amanda, firstly....huge congratulations to you.:o) Your blog is full of sunshine (and I try to forget you live in the sunshine too whilst we get rained on here in Blighty!!), and a joy to read so well blooming deserved.

    We saw the most wonderful dolphins along side our boat, whilst on holiday in Greece last year,magical won't ever forget...

      It is really unbelievable I am really keen to see Dolphins in the wild and when I consider all the travelling I have done and where I live, you'd think I would have seen one or a few by now. I mean I've seen sharks ,barracuda and whales but not dolphins tch!

    Hi Amanda. The sewing machine I have is from John Lewis. It is. Cheap and so basic. I've had it for about 3 years now abd think I'm ready to progress to a better one soon. I like the look of a janome , again just a fairly basic one x

      Thanks for this information. I have been reading reviews and Janome comes up as a very good sewing machine but a little on the expensive side. I am looking at a Brother and an Alpha but I'm still a bit lost.
