Crafty in the Med

I am here to enjoy meeting other bloggers and to share my love of craft ,mostly crochet, my thoughts and my daily happenings here in Alicante,Spain, my adopted country. I belong to a local choir because singing and music makes me happy. Flea markets and book shops are two of my favourite places to be. I read lots......sci´fi/fantasy,buried treasure, and off world adventures. I have a passion for history! I walk and walk and walk for about 10 months per year during the hot months I swim.

TEMPTATION

"The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it"
Oscar Wilde

Methinks I've yielded but what could I do????

If you have seen my last post here these images speak for themselves

I went back to Marie Carmen's shop yesterday to change some of the white yarn and get the mint green for my sister's cot blanket pattern.
I'm not quite sure how those large 150gram balls of Denim Fun got there too!!!

and a couple of cream and beige balls of Anchor cotton ...now who put those in my bag????   I most certainly do not remember adding the orange Bravo 50 grm ball to the stash at all!!! Can't have been me....it was the Yarn fairy!!!

Hooray for the Yarn Fairy!!!!!

and Hooray today is Fiesta Day!!! The Valenciana Constitution Day...Bravo!!!

Amanda :-)

  1. Good for you! I feel infinitely better now having splurged on the Loop Knitting online shop yesterday and now my finger is hovering over the Laine et Tricot online emporium ;-) The only thing stopping me from entering my paypal password is that I cannot remember my Laine et Tricot account password. Damnations! Come on Yarn Fairy; wing your way from sunny Spain to cloudy France and help me remember the all important password!

    1. Hello Stephanie
Well can't say where she has gone I'm sure....she was there for a split second just making me sneeze with all her magical yarn dust....an after all I was totally distracted at the time. She could be on her way to you......!!!

  2. That little yarn fairy sure is sneaky!! I love piles of new yarn. The more yarn the better!!! Even if I never get around to making anything out of them, I still like to see them all piled up in my work room in baskets or tote bags, I even like the smells of some of them....it's that funny! Have fun with it all, Hugs...Shari!

    1. She just may be hovering around there now or pretty soon en route from France where she received a plaintive call from Stephanie at Millefeuilles for help.

  9. When ( not if ) I win the lottery, I am opening up a wool shop. I will fill it with rainbow displays of wool going from light to dark shades of every colour under the sun. I will stroke these pretties everyday. I will have big soft fluffy Balls and neat tiny cotton balls. There will be patterns and needles and comfy chairs. Coffee on the go and you are all welcome ! X

  11. I'm all for being frugal, but we all need a *splurge* now and again, so long as it's fabric or wool!!

    1. ssssh Debby....one never mentions cleaning to the Yarn Fairy...I totally agree with you that it would be so perfect if that were so----do the cleaning that is....but I'm afraid it goes totally against a Yarn fairies' obligations...she might buzz off and never return!!! LOL!

      keep well

  18. Wow, I never knew about the Yarn Fairy. Maybe that's why it's taken me so long to start building my stash. I would imagine she only visits the "believers". Do I need to close my eyes and say, "I believe"? *smile* When I saw the first photo, I thought you might be about to make the granny patch blanket. I'm hooked on that one and I'm slowly buying my yarn 3 at a time so I don't overload the budget.

Love, love, love the colors. Have a great hooky time with all that yarn.

    Hugs,
    Sharon

  19. The "Yarn" Fairy? You are way to cute ... did you get away with it? hahaha.... I have scored some Baby Yarn & Sayelle for my crafty crocheting sister for $1.00 a ball! Will post whenever I get the goods ! Stay high and dry, you and the "yarn" fairy.
