SIX THOUSAND TRIANGLES!!!!!
This is to congratulate and thank Lucy the Queen of Colour at Attic24 for her initiative, her marvellous idea and the arduous undertaking of setting up a handmade yarn bunting to be displayed at Yarndale being held TODAY in Yorkshire in England.
A bunting made and sent in from crafters from all over the WORLD.

What does it say to you?
I feel so good inside to see it,I feel just a little bit of me is there, I feel I belong,I feel the admiration of thousands of yarn lovers admiring OUR bunting!!!! I feel it is a tremendous achievement to have brought together so many many people through the creation of this bunting.
I am also going to commiserate with those peeps ,like my self, who cannot visit Yarndale today
We who have to view and glean what is happening in Yarndale from afar can do so hoping that a photo or two may appear on the following blogs or facebook pages:
- Yarndale face book page
- Yarndale blog
- The town of Skipton where Yarndale is being held.
- Lucy's web page Attic24 there is a super good photo there of all the ladies preparing the bunting.
- Lucy's facebook page she has posted about it here too.
- Linda at Linda's craftycorner has commented on her latest post that she is going and is going to take loads of photos ...goodie! goodie!!
- Hawthorn at Livelovecraftme commented it is in her neighbouring town so she may be going and may blog about it too.
- Annie at Knitsofacto said she might be going so maybe she'll post some photos too
- Jacquie at BunnyMummy 's latest post is about her going to Yarndale today
- Patchwork Heart facebook a pic taken 50 mins ago ........meeting Lucy from Attic 24 and bunting in the background!
Being very selfish can I just remind you this is my participation,my set of bunting triangles and I really don't know if it arrived safely and if it is being displayed with the rest...I can just imagine and hope it is.
Should you be at Yarndale today and see the fishes, whale, sun and beach on blue bunting please send or post a photo. I shall love you forever :-)
I wonder if this will be the longest Yarn bunting in the world???? If it is it should be registered in the Guinness Book of records!
I WISH!
Wishing all you Yarndalers a great time!
Amanda :-)
I can't be there either ... But would love to be. Great post Amanda
ReplyDeleteDon't you just wish all of your favorite blogging friends could pop over to Yarndale and visit. I wish I could be there but will have to live through our blogging friends who actually get to go.

Hello Lucy Thank you so much for sparing the time to visit my blog and also leave a comment there. I can imagine you are absolutely shattered after the excitement of Yarndale. That excitement is practically palpable too on blogland ,everyone is talking about Yarndale and the bunting…what a success! You were right there have been loads of photos displayed on blogs and Facebook pages and finally I have seen my bunting triangles. It is incredible they were there right beside you in the photo (courtsey of Linda at Lindacraftycorner.com) ……you in your beautifully decorated corner surrounded by crochet loveliness sitting by the table. They were among all the others displayed on that table ….all in a row ….the sun the beach, the fishes and the whale … Fabulous!! I have added those photos to another post which I posted today. I am also hearing from other bloggers how happy they are to actually be able to see their bunting triangles too due to all the photos that are being displayed online.
DeleteI think the bunting has helped to put Yarndale on the map :-)
I am determined to visit next year no matter what and in fact there are numerous bloggers talking of setting up a reunion of craft bloggers to coincide with the dates for next year's Yarndale. Isn't that thrilling?
Keep well
Amanda
Well said Amanda. I did send some also, but I'm not sure if it go there. I do feel connected , as you mentioned to so many strong women and feel we all have one great thing in common... The love we all have for crafting. I love your buntings and just the thought of being able to be there would've been bliss.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day and this great experience for all of us 💜
That is amazing Amanda. It says to me: a small idea can become a great craft thing with the help of others
ReplyDeleteNicely summed up Amanda. Oflate in blogland I have got to read so much about Yarndale and buntings. Its quite exciting to read. An opportunity to be amidst craft lovers. But alas, very far away from this hub of activities. Atleast, I am happy I am able to see pics and read about this exciting event! Thanks for sharing

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda
ReplyDeleteJust popped back to let you know that your bunting has been much admired. As it was so special, I kept it out of the main strings and added it to my table display in the knit n natter lounge so that it could be seen close up. Everyone LOVED the details, so thank you very much. Much love Lucexxxxxxx

Hello Maddalena
DeleteThank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comment. I certainly agree with you it is the very best way. The feeling of unity through craft whether it is crochet, knitting or other. It is a fantastic feeling and quite amazing really. I often say to myself how can I possibly feel so near to these bloggers and enjoy their virtual company so much and I don't even know them personally! However it is fact and not fiction!
keep well
Amanda :-)
Even though I wasn't physically there, I am glad I was represented by 10 triangles.
