Mobile phone anger

I have been meaning to see how I can blog from my mobile phone for quite sometime and yesterday with a calm mind and totally prepared to have a go at it I set to the task. I am quite happy sorting out things on my iPad or desktop computer but when it comes to my mobile phone it drives me loopy! I have to set my mind to it! I am sure you know what I mean

I signed into my blogger on the mobile and could see the different posts and also comments. ..brilliant I thought! That is really what I want it for to be able to reply to comments and post comments on other blogs. I prefer to set up my new posts from my desktop computer. All was going well so I thought I would reply to the comments on my previous post. I wrote a lengthy reply to Betsy's " The Simple life of a Queen" comment  and posted it but lo and behold an error message appeared! I tried again but this time I copied the text before posting, the same happened again… so annoying! I was getting a tad mobile phone irritated by then. I decided to check to see if it was a generalised blogger glitch and went to my desktop computer to try there.Absolutely no problem replying to Betsy’s comment on my desktop pooter!  Although I was pretty fed up with my mobile phone by then I went back to it to see if I could download a free blog app. Apple store has several  although I would have to pay for them so I was even more fed up then and decided to leave it for the time being!

What a waste of time…grr!

Replies to two comments from my previous post

Coincidentally, these two comments that I received from Cherie at North Yorkshire Craft Guru blog and Happy Hooker .an independent blogger,

match exactly what I had thought and commented to Sr P the day we were strolling through the Park of the Sea (previous post) and saw the pomegranate trees and the date palms.

I asked Sr P if it was alright to pick some. The trees were heavily loaded with fruit and it seemed such a shame for it to go to waste and particularly as Sr P likes pomegranates.  He told me it was no good picking any because they were "bordes". This confused me even more because "Bordes" in Spanish means to be stroppy, curt, rude or crude!

I did a little bit of research on google and found that fruit trees that are used for ornamental reasons such as in parks are a weaker strain of fruit tree which is planted in a poorer quality soil which is not fed or enriched enough for the fruit to be edible. I gather you can try to eat the fruit they aren't toxic but your mouth would just be full of seeds and there would be no taste to it at all.  There you go Cherie and Happy Hooker that's my reply and the explanation. I'd say also to give a translation to the use of the Spanish word "Bordes" in this context I would say the fruit trees planted in parks produce  "Stroppy fruit" and you don't want to mess with them!

Thomas Ra

Do you remember Thomas Ra who I posted about in March.

He is being very very naughty and will not leave Lunita the turtle in peace.

He just will not leave the poor turtle alone!   I mentioned  in that previous post that initially he had to be punished for trying to eat Lunita but he seems to have forgotten that and is now treating her as prey again. Thank goodness Lunita has grown quite a bit and he can't get her in his mouth.

Lunita is a brave little soul too and she defends herself as the other day she bit Thomas on his paw...which he deserves.

I have told my grand-daughter to give him another severe tail shaking if he continues to harass her. He doesn't like that at all!

  1. Good morning Amanda, sorry about the mobile phone woes we have one cell phone that is a cheapy and we keep in the car for emergencies. Larry uses a little bit more not much. watching so many people glued to their phones instead of enjoying their surroundings I decided years ago I don't want one of those electronics. also we don't have any one to call haha not much of any family-and as much as I despise facebook-those that are into texting use messenger there to get hold of me if they don't want to call our home phone enough of that.
I think its hard to teach a cat as they are predatory animals, as the turtle grows larger the bite will be harder as well.
that is interesting about the commercial trees-I would probably take one and try it I don't think it's rude if the fruit is good and no one wants it.
    Happy Mid week-hugs Kathy

    1. Totally agree! People depend on their mobile phones far too much and the younger generation seem to be socialise much less too. It is quite irritating when using the bus having to hear numerous private conversations from the other passengers. It is even worse on the train everyone dives for their mobile as soon as their hear the phone ring!. Totally crazy! A x

  2. When we visit Valencia the trees are full of oranges, we asked our Spanish friends why no one was picking them she said the same, poor quality planted on purpose, so they look good for longer as no one wants them.

    1. Hello Marlene,Thanks for calling in and commenting. I think that is more or less the answer I got from my husband. I must say they are very decorative covered in oranges or lemons or in this case pomegranates. A x

  3. Poor little Lunita. Thomas Ra needs to learn to leave girls alone! :-)
I know how frustrating it can be to try to comment, etc. I can't comment at all using my iPad or iPhone, only my laptop. Conversly, I can only do a blog post from my phone or iPad, not my laptop. It's maddening. I worry that someday something else will change and I won't be able to communicate with my friends at all. I keep on day to day hoping that Blogger will figure all of this out.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

    1. Hello Betsy, My grand-daughter thought Thomas Ra had learnt his lesson last time when she gave his tale a good shake (he doesn't like that) but no he is waiting his moment. She says he sits beside Lunita and looks at Cookie (GD) as if waiting for her permission to have a go at Lunita. Of course she tells him NO! LOL! A x

  4. Turtle and cat; that's a pet combination I'd never considered. Hooray for Lunita's self-protection!

    1. Lunita totally ignores him most of the time and goes her merry way. Obviously that particular time she got fed up of being pushed around (literally) by Thomas Ra's paw and retaliated. A x

    1. Mobile phones, computers/internet and so on are very practical and have a lot of use but the phone particularly is irritating especially when having to download and set up a new app. As for new blogger...I am gradually learning obviously not fast enough though...tch! Thanks for your comments. :-). A x

  8. I hope that Thomas Ra learn to leave Lunita alone - if she bites him enough, he will!
Sorry to hear you've had techno problems - I am a techno-dinosaur, so have no idea what to do!

    1. Mobile phones absolutely annoy me. I do admit it is practical to have and so many things need security confirmation through a mobile phone now especially official centres. I will probably go back and try again once I get over the annoyance of this last try:-). A x

  9. I much prefer to do everything on the pc mobile phones are too small to see the big picture for my old eyes anyway. I do reply and leave some comments via mobile but it's very hit and miss. I used to run a Nursery in Syria and we had lots of pet tortoises in the garden the kids loved them, then one morning when I went to work I found them all dead, they had been attacked by a cat it was very distressing as you can imagine I had to get rid of all the carnage before the kids came to Nursery. Good luck to Lunita I hope Thomas leaves her alone. xx

    1. I totally agree with you Linda! I find it much easier in every way sitting in front of my iMac than fiddling around on my iphone but I thought it would be a way to reply to comments when waiting around at the doctors or in the bank. I hate wasting time! Awful incident in the nursery! It would put me off tortoises for ever ... poor things! A x

  10. I find my mobile far too fiddly for much but it's a useful thing to have. I do almost everything on my nice PC with a big, wide screen. Terribly old fashioned but there you go! Works for me.

  14. I like to sit at a desk with my big screen attached to do anything on the laptop computer. I sometimes use the mobile phone to write a comment while I'm resting in an easy chair, but I've much to learn regarding technology and leave a lot of it alone as it can be a time waster. We have pomegranate trees here in our UK garden but they've not had fruit so far unlike the fig tree. I love to see the plants and trees of the Mediterranean region. It's a shame that those growing along streets are mainly ornamental. They are still pretty. Take care Amanda.

  15. Cell phones are very useful, but I don't blog about them either. Never tried actually.
My daughter has a fig tree with many figs, but many birds come to it, so there is not much left.
