Dear Hobbyloes in a comment on my post Have card will travel mentioned the following"When I look at your picture you still look young, not like a pensioner at all." Well that made me feel a tad guilty because the photo on my blogger profile was taken 6 years ago in 2014 and I am older now so I thought it best so as not to deceive anyone to update it!! The one I have uploaded is one I had taken in August this year. Nevertheless, bless you Loes and thank you for the compliment!!

Teresa Kasner in her post Going Green shared with us her fabulous, extensive Jadeite collection and she also suggested we share anything we collected.
One of the things I collect are jugs.
Here you have my little collection. These are the ones I mostly use. There are cream jugs,milk jugs and a few are sauce boats. I thoroughly enjoy hunting for china and for jugs in the local flea markets and car boots sales here. Some of them are vintage others quite new but all have that form and shape I so like and is what catches my attention!

The two in the middle were last year Christmas gifts;cat and hen! The vintage jug on the right my mother brought it over for me some years back. It belonged to my Gran so I treasure it! The vintage jug on the left my sister found it in an outdoor flea market.
I remember buying this one myself during a trip to London,approx 20 years ago.
A very old jug showing an old version of the Willow pattern! My Mother found it at the back of a cupboard but couldn't remember where it was from.

My next make is going to be a blanket for my new great nephew who will be here with us from sometime in February. I have a very large stash of yarn but as is typical I do not have sufficient yarn to make a blanket in soft baby suitable yarn so I had to purchase more.
Although it is in the next town I often order online from Las Tijeras Magicas (The Magic Scissors) if it is a large order and I go to my local haberdashery for smaller purchases. Tijeras Magicas is very efficient and quick. I sent in my order on Monday 16th and it arrived yesterday midday. This is a family business and began as a small local shop back in 2006 but as you can see it has expanded. The results of good quality service I would say!
In my case when I am making for others (90% of the time) the preparation for a new make is also an enjoyable part of the project and goes as follows:
I sent Baby's Mum several images from Pinterest to see what sort of blanket/shawl she had in mind. I asked for a photo of baby's room and also what suggestions she would like to give me about the colour scheme. I then sent her a screenshot of the colour selection of the yarns in question (Katia Planet) for the baby's Mum to choose from and once I received the answer I ordered online.
