An hour away from here!
Beware!
keep an eye on flood warnings for MURCIA and Torrevieja if you are travelling in this area.
We are lucky here in Alicante City no problems as yet just torrential rains but it has been a nice morning today.
In Lorca MURCIA thats an hour's drive away from us its been very bad as you can see in this photo. There have been five deaths to date ....... my heart goes out to the family in Lorca who lost the grandfather who was out with his nine year old grandson and both were washed away in the flood. So sad!
Be sensible stay in the tourist areas until this passes.
If you have family or friends on holiday in this area tell them to keep their eye on the flood warnings. Coastal areas seem ok though.

ReplyDeleteThank you yes I feel I am able to socialize more now and not bite anyone's head off. Emotions hit you in a most particular way!

Very sad, it makes you realise how insignificant we all are when compared to the power of nature.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad....makes me feel so small! xx A
DeleteSigh of relief that you're safe. I've seen areas here in the US where floods have done such horrible damage. My heart goes out to everyone affected. It does remind us that Mother Nature, although is beautiful, has a wicked side too:-(
ReplyDeleteNo problems here where we are but I have seen and been in some very frightening floods here in Alicante. One year on my way to work I was lucky to turn my car around just at the right moment before a high surge of water hit the centre of the city which I was driving through. people died that day. They have taken measures though since then.
DeleteMany thanks for your thoughts Susan :-)

Its very scary isnt it Amanda? One minute you are here....the next by a freak accident of nature you're not. Very sad for all those who lost their lives.Lets hope people are as sensible as they can be.
ReplyDeleteIt is that Anne! People are just not sensible though and they get plenty of warning and advice from the authorities. Some people think they can beat the elements and they can't they should respect mother nature!
DeleteI'm ok snug at home though!

Oh my goodness that's terrible! So glad to know you are safe. Stay home as much as possible until it passes! I also agree with what Susan said about Mother Nature, Lord knows I have seen first hand here in Louisiana on what she can do with all the hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend!
Hugs,
Shari
Thanks Shari.......I had that scare and never forgotten it so I have my head screwed on, if the authorities say to be careful I'm careful! I respect Mother nature, I can well imagine you have seen some terrible weather conditions over there. USA is famous for its hurricanes and tornados I believe.

Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteHows your hands?
THEY are mucking it up for us Linda....THEY just do not appreciate what we have got! It seems to be a question of I'm alright Jack I don't care what the children of our children will have to put up with. THEY need to coddle Mother Nature a bit more and respect her!
