It has been a tedious last two weeks with boring incidents which I'm not going to go into because they aren't the most exciting things to talk about....lets just say if I were to take notes about my last two weeks. They would probably look like this
- health ,swollen painful legs,ER from 11am to 6pm ....DVT scare, only a scare ,injections for 30 days, trying to fit in work with daily visit to nurse for injections, no service at weekends except ER,looking for someone, found, injections covered for weekend, thank you daughter of a friend, seven days later still painful but better, support stockings fall down, looking forward to having a leg back!

Bit more stash busting . Bear Beanie for another great niece! Although I have tweaked here and there the basic pattern is from Janet Carrillo "damn it Janet, let’s crochet!" found here

So sorry to read that you've been poorly - that sounds sore! Hope you're up & about & feeling lots better soon. Don't worry about the followers coming & going, remember it's your space and you shouldn't feel any pressure about it. We all have times when we blog furiously and others when we just take time out to read & stalk :-) Such is life - and I for one always enjoy your posts. Love & hugs xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Gilly!
DeleteIt used to bug me quite a bit at the beginning when followers went away but it doesn't really now so much. As you rightly say it is after all my space. In all truth I think it is a bit of my own conscious reminding me I haven't been keeping my blogfriends´ interaction up to par which makes me suspect this is the cause of disappearing followers.
Thanks for visiting

Lovely Amanda...best wishes that your leg is back in full working order very soon...x
ReplyDeleteI don't get to post half as much as I'd like to but enjoy it when I do which is the most important thing (and always enjoy visiting!)

Huzzah that the gorgeous Orange has found a home - I wish I could adopt ALL the Spanish Stray Cats because they are all so needy, but Orange was a firm favourite!
ReplyDeletePouf! to Followers who come and go. They don't count! It's us Faithful Ones that are important (grin!)...I think that people forget that there is such a thing as Real Life that sometimes gets in the way of blogging! I hope that your health issues are soon sorted and that you find things to keep you stash-busting! I'm still knitting wobbly blankets for the cats that Orange left behind him!
Hello Alison
DeleteHa!!! I laughed at this……Pouf!!! To Followers and you have given me an idea I think I'm going to start another blog roll list called The Faithful Ones(returned grin!)
My next focus cat will be Josh ….such a sweetie! I just feel like picking them all up and hugging them and giving them loads of love!!! The SS are doing such a great job I just don't know how they manage as there are so many cats to home!

Just read this Amanda as I have been out of action for the past week too, I'm slowly trying to catch up. I hope you are on the mend it all sounds rather horrid and painful, as for the lost followers it happens to me all the time, It could be that they aren't blogging any more, or maybe have started following in a different way. I'm so glad Kittie has found a new home, take care! xx
ReplyDeleteBless your heart! DVT is pretty painful. I wish you a speedy recovery. Don't worry about followers, the number never matters the quality does.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I'm so sorry you have been going through a rough patch, Amanda :( I too, hope you make a speedy recovery! I have wondered about just deleting my followers gadget, and just keeping my blog roll. I love having contact with my blogging friends, family, and friends, but most of my family and friends are not followers, so I know I have followers who aren't followers if that makes any sense. Anyhow, what keeps me going in part is the contact I have with folks whether they admit to following or not....is that convoluted thinking or what :) Wishing you continued success with the kitty care, and enjoying seeing your latest creative make for your niece, xx
ReplyDeleteI wondered where you had got to Amanda. Hope you are much better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better *hugs* Fear not on the loss of followers...it seems to happen and I am sure it definitely can't be anything that anyone does..could just be people leaving blogland..of course when it happens to me I absolutely think it is me!! How I deal with it now... I don't look at the number!! love the hat. XOX
ReplyDeletePoor poor you; that sounds horrible.
ReplyDeleteDear little orange. Our adopted kitty is here xx

ReplyDeleteSorry about the above...kitty stepped on the keys and it posted before I was finished! I don't plan that far ahead anymore; things would come up and I'd only be disappointed by not finishing projects I wanted to do. I love the darling hat you've crochet for your niece--do you have a pattern? Hope you're feeling on the mend; this too will pass and...I am a follower forever, XOXO
ReplyDeleteDear Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI am sending you a huge hug! Pain coupled with daily injections AND having to continue working are no fun at all. I really hope you are feeling better. The past two weeks must have been pretty tough for you.
You are not alone to mourn Paco de Lucia's death. What an artist he was and it is so very hard to speak about him in the past. I'm trying to decide which CDs to purchase for Tristan, my budding classica guitar payer. Do you have any recommendations?
Ahh, the disappearing followers mystery. It happens to me so frequenty and each time I see one go I wonder what I did wrong. :-) Obviously, judging from previous comments we are not alone, thank goodness!
Stephanie
Dear Stephanie
DeleteMany thanks for visiting and your kind comments
If it is pure classical guitar you are after I would go for Andres Segovia's music. He is the old maestro of classical guitar…insignificant little man …apparently of no importance until he plays……. Pure heaven!.

Listen to this ……it is amazing !!!
Paco de Lucia plays flamenco guitar but never the less a maestro in his own right as well.

One of my favorites. La danza del Molinero Manuel de Falla
Hope this is of help

Dear Amanda what a tricky month February had been - hope you feel fighting fit soon and don't worry about your followers, numbers go up and down but you and your blog don't change and we will all still be popping by xxx
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were an e r nurse with swollen legs and all!
ReplyDeleteHappy forever home to kitty
Poor, dear, Amanda. Hope you soon wil be up and at 'em again and that your leg woes will soon be a thing of the past. February was a crazy month for a lot of people it seems. I don't know why anyone would stop following you. I love your posts. Take extra special care of yourself and get all better quickly.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sharon
Hi Amanda I just popped over to Thriftwood and realised I hadn't visited you for a while. I'm sorry to hear things haven't been going great and I hope your health is on the mend. Oh don't worry about your loss of followers. It won't be personal. I recently stopped following some blogs simply because I follow too many at times. Hence the fact I've missed your posts. It's great to see you've had time to do some crochet despite all that's going on. Take of you.
ReplyDeleteAli xx
good morning, I agree with Meredith-don't worry about your followers, I keep in touch as well as I can too. and you said that up front too that your time was limited-so hope your leg will get healed soon-constant pain is just the worse-I am dealing with a very bad tooth right now-hugs from the ozarks
