Can anyone recommend a book on crochet borders, edgings or trims please ???
I have been looking on the internet, mostly on Amazon and there are quite a few.
I am only going to buy one so I really do not want to waste my money.
I thought to ask you .....kind bloggers..... for your advice.
I am not a beginner but neither do I want a super advanced book :-)
Look forward to your comments :-)
and....this is another story!!!
keep well!!! Amanda :-)
I can recommend anything by Jan Eaton. She explains everything well.

I go on google and type in crochet border patterns hundreds come up and I print off the pattern that I want, I have quite a collection now that I have printed off mostly for no cost.
ReplyDeleteI bought Around the Corner crochet borders from Amazon and I really like it. I've used it several times. It has clear instructions and graphs. Hope that helps.

Hey Amanda - I can't recommend a book as I use either the internet or my sister's collection of old Magic Crochet magazines. But the Edie Eckman book (Around the Corner) looks like a good choice.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a pleasant summer! Thanks for the lovely comment on my giveaway. It's hard to believe that other giveaway was a year ago already .... where did the time go? :)
It sounds like you have a lot of good advice on books. I usually just go on Ravelry so I won't be of any help. But I did want to say that it's great to see you back! You've been missed.

ReplyDeleteI don't have any recommendations I am afraid. I am a wing it by the seat of my pants kinda girl for the most part with my crochet! Let us know though if you find a good one! xx

Hi Amanda, I also like the book 'Around the corner' but I usually look at pinterest. You can find so many beautiful borders and edgings there. Viola
ReplyDeleteI am not sure of any good ones but if you come across one I would love to know myself!!
ReplyDeleteLike the little change in your blog....It's so bright and airy! Shari
You may have made your decision now Amanda but I love the Edie Eckman 'Crochet Borders' too ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!

I like The Complete Book of Crochet Border Designs by Linda P. Schapper. It has good pictures, diagrams and directions.
