Crafty in the Med
I am here to enjoy meeting other bloggers and to share my love of craft ,mostly crochet, my thoughts and my daily happenings here in Alicante,Spain, my adopted country. I belong to a local choir because singing and music makes me happy. Flea markets and book shops are two of my favourite places to be. I read lots......sci´fi/fantasy,buried treasure, and off world adventures. I have a passion for history! I walk and walk and walk for about 10 months per year during the hot months I swim.

Big sigh!
So hard to keep up with anything other than work and all the extras:end of course reports, exams and correction. At least I do have work so I really should not winge!!!
I have finally managed to finish a shawl for me!!!
If you read my ME ME post around about Easter that shawl I made was also for me but it got sent to my sister in Lincolnshire ...why....well I am sure you know how these things happen sometimes !! :-)
This one is definitely for me!!
Spring-summery colours
Blocking.
just right for early morning starts when it is still chilly
and can be draped over the back of a chair in class when not needed.
My own pattern ....pretty straight forward with tassels. NΒΊ 4.00 hook and Katia Baby Merino Fingering yarn. I also added a row here and there of a white Red Heart yarn which had a touch of sparkle. I don't know the name of that yarn just some leftovers.
It's nice and light perfect for spring.
Keep well
Amanda :-)

Good job on your blankety shawl! It will make your chair pretty when you're not using it over your shoulders. Good for you! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteYour shawl is beautiful. I'm so glad you've made something you love. Your shawl is gorgeous.

Always nice to make something for yourself, love the colour combination and the tassels.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty x
ReplyDeleteLove your shawl!
ReplyDeleteCheers for another lovely finish, Amanda! Merino is so soft, I can imagine you enjoying being hugged in it for warmth and some encouragement as you work your way through your busy days. I just did a bit of knitting and crocheting while camping in the forest for the last ten days. A friend gave me two little round crocheted face scrubbers with a homemade soap and I love using them, so I made. some little round crocheted scrubbers with some cotton leftover yarn. Wishing you happy days with some creative yarn crafting breaks! xx
ReplyDeleteVery lovely. Just what a busy teacher needs to feel loved! I hope the end of the summer term is not too hectic for you.
ReplyDeleteYou create the most beautiful crochet pieces! Love the colors in this one--reflects the area around you, XOXO
