I feel despondent, dispirited, depressed, crestfallen (love that last word)! booo......hooooo!!!
In fact I feel in a funny weird mood, a bit unsatisfied and tired. I also feel I'm not winning my battle to keep up with my blog-mates.
It shouldn't be like this as I do enjoy blogging ........so much!
Lets put it down to the weather shall we as the forecast is for more storms and the temperature is dropping, as you can see it does look as if its going to pelt down:
storm on its way in......
coming from Valencia way over the Aitana mountain
Spain is not synonymous with sun and heat , 12 months a year ...it gets cold here and we have a winter. You don't get the cold rough weather like in the North of Spain and it never snows here in the city. However Alicante is on sea level.....and the damp and humidity really seeps into your bones when it gets cold.
I have nothing crafty wise to share with you that is completed except the massive amount of endless threads which I gave you a glimpse of in my last post and they have increased.!!! grr!!!
I have some crochet makes done but they are to go in swaps and I really can't show them off until the recipient receives them. I am participating in two Christmas swaps, the Snowflake swap hosted by at Kate at Granny taught me to crochet and the Christmas Cracker swap hosted by Tracy at Mad about bags .
As I have nothing completed I thought I'd give you a few glimpses of bits and bobs I never got to use or I've put to one side to use for a future make which I don't know about yet.
They are those bits and bobs one sees and just have to make to see what they are like completed.
I am sure you know what I mean!
Enjoy your Sunday!!!
Amanda :-)
Oooh, those clouds do look very stormy. No rain here as yet, but it is a bit grey today.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling brighter now - soon be Spring!

Your work is lovely Amanda.
ReplyDeleteIt is wet wet wet here in Ireland too.
I hope your weather improves soon and as Pearly Queen says it
will soon be Spring.
I don't mind rain or storms but I do mind ice and snow
especially on the roads :(
Wishing you a Sunny Sunday
Fiona
We've had big storms and rain here in the uk too, however today, I'm sat in a warm conservatory, with blue skies and sunshine! You can only do what you can do! Relax a bit and don't worry too much about finishing things.....just enjoy creating! :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh Amanda, I do recognize your mood, not a favourite of mine to possess either. Will be posting about a Granny Square late today for a friend who is doing a fund raiser, hope you will be able to participate :) ... keep those bones warm and dry.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy

I know just how you're feeling Amanda, I start to feel like this as soon as the dark nights draw in. Try to think of good things coming up, I have started making small things which finish quickly to give as gifts, and I'm tying to forget about all the wips that need finishing haha, have a lovely Sunday sending a big hug to cheer you up.xxx
ReplyDeleteOoh I love storm clouds, the look so powerful! Loving your bits and bobs of makes too Amanda!
ReplyDeleteVictoria xx
Amanda, I feel your weather is very much like Florida, it is warm and sunny so much of the time, but when the temperature drops it is very cold and damp. So it ends up feeling much colder than it is.... I love the storm clouds, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
MEredith
It's the weather!!! So don't give more importance than it deserves!!! It happens even to me!!! Enjoy your crocheting!!!

Amanda, I can feel your "pain." Not only is it dark by 4:30, but the storms here have us just soaked. I try not to complain, because of all the people who went Hurricane Sandy on the east coast, this is minimal. I have so much work to complete, but I have to say, I'm behind and feeling even more stressed. But, I also know, after losing my Kelly, that stressing over little things is silly and I try to see the blessings of all my blogging friends that make me smile and keep me grounded. Instead, be happy...you are loved, XOXO
ReplyDeleteAmanda, those storm clouds look scary. We have been having wonderful weather here, very unusual for November. But the cold and grey are coming. I think it's the storm clouds that have your mood changing. Crocheting can be a great help for that. Snuggle up, light some candles and crochet away.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sharon
Hi Amanda, I know what you mean about keeping up with blogging friends.I sometimes think it's getting harder and harder. I love to read and comment but it is increasingly taking up lots of time that I dont really have at the moment!

I have gotten to the point where I do not worry if I don't blog for a while. I suppose I should be more motivated, but I have decided not to let it bother me. Love your bits and bobs.
ReplyDeleteDear Amanda...i feel exactly the same way...i love blogging but i just cant seem to keep up with it...i do try though...the weather in Greece is like that too and it doesnt help at all with my mood swings and all the pregnacy changes my body goes through...

Hi Amanda! In India too there are occasional storms in Coastal areas but otherwise it is a warm country except in the Himalayan regions! There is no threat of melt down or global warming unless Indian ocean throws it's wrath upon us :). May be you can start making crochet Noah's Ark to get over the weird feeling. Just kidding!:)
ReplyDeleteBits and bobs! I guess must be a story at every crochet lover's home:) I have many too. Just think from their perspective, they might be feeling devoid of love and attention ! Poor chaps !! May be, once a month we can observe a ' love the bits and bobs day' and pick one of them to the stage of completion!:)
Hello Preeti,
ReplyDeleteNot a bad idea at all!!!
thanks for visting
A xx
I wouldn't worry, we all go through blog-drought days and stormy weather days. Your photos of the storm coming up are very dramatic. It is difficult this time of the year when we are all crafting like crazy but can not show anything for it coz the recipients may see the photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely crochet bunch!! I know how you feel about keeping up with blog friends. I am not winning at all as well. But I keep trying. Have a lovely weekend, sweetheart. xx
ReplyDeleteHope the storm has passed and you're feeling better today :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your bits & bobs, it's good to know that someone else out there has these kind of days too. Hugs xx
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I will try and get a picture of the reindeer skirt! Hope you are feeling better now and the sun starts shining xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of bits and bobs. Hope they find their way into something soon! Maybe the bit of wind will blow away those crestfallen feelings?
ReplyDeleteWow wonderful pictures from Valencia...
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say that your all doilies are so beautiful. I wish I had known to make crochet doily.. Mt dear grandmother known it so well but I did not want to learn as It is so hard..:))
Foolish me..:)
All your handworks are gorgeous dear my friend..
All good days..:))
I think we're all suffering a bit from the shortening days, there's so much less light even when the sun shines, and of course for most of us it hasn't lately!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling cheerier now ... do you light candles in the evening, that and fairy lights always works for me
Hello Annie
ReplyDeleteHello Annie,
Many thanks for visiting.
I do light candles and in fact one every evening. Its on my coffee table and it has a light perfume that I love. It makes me feel snug and cosy.
It was a passing moment and I feel ME again as I said it just must have been the weather its so dismal.
Keep well
Amanda :-)
Hi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI can see why you might feel a little weirded out with those huge dark clouds looming! I'd imagine you had quite a fierce storm. We have had some terrible storms lately. Power outages and high winds. Tonight we were without electricity for three hours. Thus, I am up later tryinng to get my blogging caught up.
Just look at all the beautiful crochet. I love to crochet. I tried knitting a year ago and enjuoyed it. Unfortunately, I didn't pick it up for a couple months and I had totally forgotten how. I guess I'll just stick with crochet.
I hope you are feeling a little bit chipper, my friend.
Blessings across the many miles,
Carolynn xxx
